On Monday, September 30th, Universal Studios Home Video unleashed The
Scorpion King, the $90 million box office spin-off of the phenomenally
popular Mummy series, on DVD and VHS. The party began with
a theatrical presentation on Sunset Boulevard which Universal Studios
put a total of a half million dollars into producing. Standing high above
West Hollywood, Kelly Hu, star of the The Scorpion King, set
Universals Scorpion King billboard into flames. From
there, the show was complete with sword fighters, flamethrowers, belly
dancers, and movie-like stunts. Live camels then lead guests to the incredibly
lush RAZOR Lounge VIP after-party -- taking place on Sunset Blvd. inside
an abandoned restaurant. Celebrity DJ AM was spinning as guests danced,
mingled, and overlooked Hollywoods hottest strip and the billboard
of the The Scorpion King that was set ablaze.
In attendance were 300 VIP guests of Universal Studios and RAZOR Magazine
including cast members of The Scorpion King, such as Michael
Clarke Duncan and Kelly Hu.
